Sensory bins or sensory play are big buzzwords of the 21st century in the parenting and teaching realm. What really is the purpose of sensory play? Why do kids need to engage in sensory play? How can I facilitate sensory play so that kids can benefit from it?

In this workshop, we invite you to a short introduction on why sensory play is essential in child development. The objectives of this workshop include:

  • Understanding the 8 sensory systems in our body and their role in regulation and learning

  • Understanding the relationship between behaviour and sensory processing

  • Understanding how sensory processing differences impact learning and skill acquisition

  • Learning how to identify sensory systems involved throughout a child's day

  • Learning how to identify sensory needs and strategies to respond to those needs

  • How to create sensory-friendly environment for successful learning

Our workshops will always include printed resource for each participant and several audience engagement activities to ensure understanding.
