Do you have concerns about your child's/the child you are working with's development? When you relayed your concerns to family doctor or paediatrician, did they share the concern or tell you to wait and see? Are you aware that there are child development professionals in the community that can help you?

Whether you are a parent or teacher, we welcome you to this workshop where we will provide you with the best information on how to access early intervention programs in Alberta, what to look for in an early intervention program, and how to advocate and ask the right questions to your family physicians/paediatricians for prompt referrals and intervention strategies. You will learn:
An overview of early intervention programs available in Alberta. Details on application, fees, fundings, parent involvement, and professional involvement
How to know if it is the right call to enrol your child in an early intervention program
Sample questions to ask your primary physicians or pediatricians about your child's need for early intervention programs
How to identify if the early intervention program is right for you

Our workshops will always include printed resource for each participant and several audience engagement activities to ensure understanding.
Target audience: 10-20 parents and educators who currently serve children who may demonstrate delay in development (language, cognitive, learning disability, gross motor and fine motor challenges) and are interested in learning more about early intervention programs in Alberta.
Length of workshop: 2 hours
